The users are given an overview of all the different teams and Microsoft 365 groups they are a part of, making it convenient for them to find what they are looking for. The overview shows you Teams description, owners, number of members, guests, and the date for the last activity. This is also where you can create a new request for a new team to be made.
Teams Admin and Global Admin users have access to settings, where you can create and manage templates. In the template overview you will find all the templates you have created and templates which are still in draft. You can easily find out if the individual templates need approvers for the creation of new Teams, 365 Groups or SharePoint Sites. You can also edit the template by clicking on the menu button next to them, and customize settings and applications.
We have given you three options for the approval of new Teams. You can choose several people as approvers, and either require approval by all of them or only from one of them. All of the users you have chosen are notified when someone requests a new Team with the current template. If you only require approval from one of the users, the Team will be created as soon as one of them approves. You can also choose to not have an approval process. This applies especially to social teams.
Template General Configuration
In General Settings you will can define name, description, owners, and members. Choose the template name then describe what type of Team template it is and it’s use. Giving a good name and description to your templates makes it easier for the users to choose the right template. You can predefine owners and users in the template, making it easier to set up teams with the correct structure and members from the start.
Teams template naming policy
You can pre-define what name you want teams based on each template to have. You can add a prefix such as “UK” for country and suffix such as “2020” for current year. This makes it easier for requester and your Teams follow a standard
Template Collaboration Type Configuration
Here you will manage the settings for members and the messaging settings. You can choose to check or leave the options unchecked. Member settings; Members are authorized to:
- Create and edit channels
- Delete channels
- Add or delete apps
- Create and delete tabs
- Create and edit connectors
- Create or update channels
- Delete channels
- Edit own messages
- Delete own messages
- Create, team mentions
- Create channel mentions
- Use Gihpy, stickers, memes and custom memes
Channels and folders
In each template you can pre-define what channels to be created when a new team is created. Within each channel you can set up a document structure with folders.
Onboarding & offboarding
Onboarding and offboarding can be time consuming, in addition to having privacy issues. Overview & Control lets you add and remove one or multiple users to multiple Teams at same time. You can easily choose which Teams you want to add or remove them from. This will save you a lot of time and effort.
